A field guide to Donut Place

STAFF

The HR room on the floor opens a panel titled STAFF with three upgrade tracks: EMPLOY, SPEED and CAPACITY. Each is a clipboard with a picture on it and a row of dots underneath — not a price list.

A shop corner with an HR sign, a green TRASH bin and a floating price tag reading 120.
What this shows the HR room that leads to the panel — the tag on the wall is the cost of the room, not of a person. Captured 2026-11-05 Client web build 2026-11-05 Planche 1

The panel

Opened from the HR room, the panel covers the lower half of the screen with a yellow header reading STAFF and three clipboard cards:

cardpicturewhat it appears to govern
EMPLOYa figure holding a broom, with a plus signhiring someone to work the floor
SPEEDa running figurehow fast that work happens
CAPACITYa figure carrying a boxhow much can be carried or handled at once

Under each card sits a row of round pips, the first few filled and the rest grey. That is the only progress readout the panel offers — no number, no currency total on the card itself.

Why there are no prices on this page

The panel is taller than the game viewport in the window we captured in. Its lower edge — the row that would carry a price or a buy button — was below the bottom of the frame in every shot we took.

That is a measurement problem, not a mystery: maximise the browser window, or go full screen, and the row should come into view. We would rather say the panel is cut off than invent a number for it.

What the broom implies

The only staff role visibly pictured is a cleaner. That matches the rest of the room: rubbish accumulates, and the player has to carry it to the green TRASH bin by hand. A hired worker who does that is the obvious reading of EMPLOY, but we have not seen a member of staff on the floor, so the page does not claim it.
